Week 4 is over and we went a successful (11-5) straight up and (2-2) ATS. Whenever you win 65% of your picks you can't be upset… We are sitting at (40-23) straight up and (11-7) ATS on the year. Impressive numbers to start the year but there's a lot left to improve on. Now for my picks for week 5…
Seattle is coming off a road win in Santa Clara while the Rams are coming off a tough loss at home against the Cardinals. Both teams need a win here so expect it to be a solid divisional game. The Rams under McVay have played very well against Seattle, which is one of the harder stadiums for road teams to win in. Seattle’s secondary is pretty weak and their defense in general hasn't been special. This is one of my favorite picks ATS, and I think that the Rams bounce back big here and cover the spread of (-2.5).
Pick: Rams / Rams (-2.5)
This game is a hard one to predict just because of how up and down the Saints have been this year. The Football Team is coming off a comeback win against the weak Falcons and the Saints blew it against a bad Giants team. How do you predict this game? I have no idea but I am going to ride with the more experienced QB and team and that frankly is the Saints. The Football Team's defense has been mediocre while the Saints defense hasn't done much to be any better. I think this is a close game and the Saints scrape away with the win.
Pick: Saints
The Jets coming off their first win of the year should be feeling great, while the complete opposite can be said for the Falcons who lost against a bad Washington team. The Jets defense is actually not that bad, and QB Zach Wilson when he got outside of the pocket was electric throwing the ball down field. The Atlanta defense is actually horrible and everyone expected that. Once again though I can't trust a rookie QB against a seasoned veteran in Matt Ryan. I expect the Falcons to win this one in a closer game than people might think.
Pick: Falcons
This is going to be a shootout. Both teams are 3-1, yes the Bengals are actually 3-1 surprisingly. The spread being (-3) means that Vegas is expecting a closer game than the general public might believe. The Bengals are coming into this game with a little bit of extra rest after playing on Thursday night against the Jaguars. I don't think that extra rest slows down Rodgers though and the Bengals lose in a tough one to the Packers.
